Seeking jobs as a data scientist has always been a struggle. The eagerness of landing a lucrative career, notwithstanding the stringent hiring process that involves multiple technical rounds, assignments, and interviews.

  • Emphasize on the projects and assignments

Employers are much more interested in the skills you possess and how easily you could solve a complex problem. Make sure to add the projects you’ve worked upon. Hiring managers seek to hire professionals with hands-on experience in tools and technologies.

  • Highlight your achievements and education

Never engage your employer with fluff just to increase the word count in your resume.

For instance, instead of writing a phrase – I have a strong background in mathematics and statistics, project your message directly. Instead, use phrases like – attended Harvard University studying Statistical analysis and was awarded top prize for my thesis.

The more precise and detailed you are with your achievements, the more likely you’ll be in securing the job.

  • Talk data

A typical generic resume will be filled with words that are rather vague and makes no sense. Remember, you’re here to get into a data science career. No company will entertain you if your resume falls under this category. If you’re talking about accomplishments, make sure they see data.
